We'll Miss You Brother

Our legendary sound man, Jan Veltman, has unexpectedly passed away. The whole Delines family is crying our way through tour right now. We loved him, he was our great friend, and we cannot express enough how much we'll miss him.

In his words Dutch to English translation:

I am no longer here.

Illness took me by surprise.

Just last week, I said:

“I’m afraid I’ve really been hit hard by this.”

That was hard for me, as I like to be in control.

I was my own boss throughout my life, and I’m proud of that.

Born under the billiard table in a pub—the start of a life filled with the hospitality industry and live music.

I found my home behind the mixing desk.

Pubs, clubs, and rock ‘n’ roll, yet always keeping an eye on world news. From Groningen to Valkenswaard to Nijmegen, where my anchors—Iris and Mink—tied me to this wonderful place.

Spin the music, embrace the sound.

I’m no longer front of house; we’re skipping the soundcheck.

But if you want to hear me again, just listen to the low end.

Let me rest in peace lovely people.

Jan Veltman
